BRI Customers Can Now Pay Electricity Using PayLater At PLN Mobile
PT PLN (Persero) in collaboration with PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) (Persero) provides a buy now pay later service or a later payment method for electricity account payments at PLN Mobile.
The cooperation between the two SOEs is realized through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) related to the provision of banking services and financing facilities for payment of electricity bills at the PLN Jakarta Headquarters, on Wednesday, September 20.
PLN's Retail and Commerce Director Edi Srimulyanti said that PLN not only has an obligation to meet electricity needs, but also provides convenience in electricity services to the community.
"This collaboration is the starting point for cooperation which we will continue to develop in the future. We have dreamed of this for a long time, with many channels (payments) we can promote even more intensively," said Edi in a press release, quoted on Saturday, September 23.
Edi hopes that this collaboration with BRI can be followed by the Association of State-Owned Banks (Himbara) or other state-owned banks. The number of payment channel options available will facilitate customer transactions.
"Channel payments need to be increased, so that for our customers to those at the ends of the region, in remote areas, it can easily transact with BRI at PLN Mobile," he said.
He added that PLN seeks to make it easier for customers to enjoy electricity facilities by providing the best schemes for paying for electricity bills.
"I think this is a strategic collaboration for PLN and BRI, because this digital era is an era of collaboration. We cannot walk alone, surely this requires cooperation between one party and another," said Edi.

Meanwhile, BRI's Director of Consumer Business Handayani hopes that this cooperation between SOEs is able to provide more benefits for the community. BRI is committed to continuing to support the benefits of SOEs to the community.
"These are two big conglomerates that tie up new promises from a joint initiative to be able to provide the best service to PLN customers and also BRI customers," he said.
Handayani is optimistic that the ongoing cooperation will be able to provide mutual benefits and produce various new innovations in serving the community.
"Perhaps this is the first time the buy now pay later scheme and also enter priority financing has been carried out. We hope that this will continue to be improved and provide mutual benefits, both for PLN Group and BRI Group," he said.
Not only the cooperation of banking services for account payments, but also the signing of the MoU between PLN Icon Plus and Bank Raya as part of the BRI Group to finance online transactions for industry and business players.
Through this Pinang Maksima product owned by Bank Raya, PLN seeks to provide convenience for industry and business players in the country in enjoying electricity facilities by providing the best schemes for making transactions.
