HIMKI Calls Machinery Restructuring Assistance For Indonesian Crafts To Hold Import Rate
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Furniture and Crafts Industry Association (HIMKI) stated that consistent engine restructuring assistance and its volume continued to be increased can increase the sales turnover of furniture. This allows national crafts to curb the rate of increase in imports.
"This assistance has been proposed for a long time since before COVID-19 and has been implemented by the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) until now," said Chairman of the Presidium of the Indonesian Furniture and Crafts Industry Association (HIMKI) Abdul Sobur quoting Antara.
Sobur said, to increase productivity and efficiency and the company's capabilities, precise technology such as wood working machines or machines to work on and process various kinds of objects made of wood.
Technology tersebut akan sangat membantu para anggota HIMKI untuk meningkatkan target jual ekspor, ungkap Sobur.
Sobur explained that the Ministry of Industry's restructuring program provides a kind of reimbursement of machines purchased with a maximum figure of IDR 500 million per engine unit and a 15 percent discount for imported products and 25 percent if the engine is produced domestically.
"Later there will be verification by the surveyor agency, after it is properly valued, it will be approved by the aid provider," explained Sobur.

Sobur added, one of the keys to downstreaming success is to build a state-of-the-art industrial machinery in Indonesia.
"We see the success of China's country building productivity because it is supported by a very strong wood working machine," added Sobur.
He said, without the support of qualified tools and technology, the furniture and handicraft industry is difficult to play a bigger role in boosting the economy quickly.
"The cost is exports, we are targeting an increase inbelian national exports by the end of 2024 at IDR 80 trillion," said Sobur.
