Allegedly Starvation, Mother And Child In Kediri Found Dead Inside The House
KEDIRI - A housewife Utami Sri Rahayu (66) and her son, a resident of Singonegaran Village, Pesantren District, Kediri City, East Java, were found dead in her house, last Wednesday. He is thought to have died from hunger. Utami lives with her son named Arif Budiman (45), a person with disabilities was found in critical condition. Despite trying to be rescued by health workers, bhabinkamtibmas, babinsa and local residents, Arif was declared dead 10 minutes later. Pesantren Police Chief Kompol Sugianto, said Arif could not move without the help of others. He was declared critical because of hunger not eating for three days. Utami is known to have a history of stomach acid disease and vertigo was found lying on the floor. He was first found around 11.30 WIB, Wednesday. "His son who was in bed in critical condition for not eating for 3 days. After trying to be rescued and removed from his room by health worker, 10 minutes later his son also died," said Sugianto, Thursday, September 21. Sugianto explained that Utami's body was first found by his neighbor Sunarti (50) who felt suspicious for two days his house was always closed and did not respond to calls. Then, continued Sugianto, Sunarti tried to ask his son-in-laws for help to come together at Utami's house. However, after successfully entering the house, Utami was found lying under the floor.

"It turned out that there was a foul smell and (Utami) died," he explained. For further investigation, the Kediri City Police Inafis Team took the two bodies of the mother and child to the Bhayangkara Hospital in Kediri.
