JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) together with Member of Commission V DPR RI Mulyadi made a working visit (kunker) to Bogor Regency, West Java, some time ago.
During the visit, PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono instructed improvement and widening of the Puncak alternative route, West Java.
"If you want to increase the potential for tourism in the Sukamakmur sub-district, apart from being an alternative route to the Puncak Bogor tourist area, the road must also be better, for that it must be widened with a standard of about 5.5 to 6 meters (m)," Minister Basuki said in a written statement received by VOI, Thursday, September 21.
The regional roads that are referred to are the Sukamakmur-Sukawangi section and the Menker Gunung Batu section which are alternative tourist routes to Puncak Bogor.
Basuki ensured that the handling of damaged regional roads in accordance with Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 3 of 2023 concerning the Acceleration of Improvement of Regional Road Connectivity had begun simultaneously throughout the archipelago since the end of July 2023.
"The implementation of the Regional Road Instruction (IJD) which is carried out throughout Indonesia along the 2,800 kilometers (km) of the highway and 2,300 m of bridges. In West Java, there are 15 roads to be built, including those in Bogor Regency. Everything is planned to be completed in December 2023, including this road section," he said. Sukamakmur-Sukawangi road preservation activities have been carried out since August 30, 2023 with a contract value of IDR 38.96 billion. Meanwhile, Member of Commission V DPR RI Mulyadi said, with the road construction project in Sukamakmur District, it is hoped that Sukamakmur will truly prosper. The construction of this road has been planned until Citeureup District until 2024.
"This means that people who are going to Puncak can use this road, which goes to Cipanas as an alternative road. This will reduce the volume burden of vehicles in the Puncak area, so that trips to tourist destinations are smoother. The breakthrough of the Minister of PUPR through this inpres is really very beneficial for the community, and we will continue to oversee the development," he said.
