Breeders Ask DPR To Form A Panja To Resolution Budget Problems

JAKARTA - Farmers who are members of the Indonesian People's Budget Association (Pinsar) have asked Commission IV of the DPR to form a working committee (pemployment) to solve the ongoing domestic poultry problem.

Secretary General Pinsar Mukhlis said independent breeders of boiler and layer chickens always face repeated problems, but there is no solution from the government.

"Because the problem with the poultry is not over, please form a committee to discuss the implementation of these meetings," he said in a hearing with Commission IV of the DPR, Monday, September 18.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Indonesian Managing Association (Pinsar) of Central Java, Pardjuni, revealed that since 2019 the problem of the drop in the price of broiler chickens has never been completed.

Furthermore, he considered, this unfinished problem was caused by an integrated integrator or poultry company that began to dominate the market.

According to him, the poultry company is suppressing the business of small farmers.

The last five years to this day (small raisers) have not existed, but many have died. Integrators always grow. That's clearly a fact. This means that the government is not pro to the people but pro-integrators," he said.

In fact, continued Pardjuni, this broiler chicken is only 35 days old. However, the problem of being allowed to drag on for up to 5 years has not been resolved.

"The broiler system is only 35 days old, but it's not resolved for more than 5 years," he explained.

Pardjuni also regrets that the government only intervenes downstream, such as destroying chicken seeds which are final stock (FS), without any control of pure egg chicken seeds or imported Grand Parent Stock (GPS).

For your information, this chicken production originally came from the Grand Parent Stock which distributed Parent Stock (PS) and produced by FS which grew into chicken.

"This means this problem is on GPS. He will cause problems with PS and go to FS. If it is taken care of it is only FS, it's useless," he said.

Meanwhile, layer breeders or laying hens also face problems that are not much different.

Recently, the price of corn which is chicken feed contributes a large cost of production prices.

The head of the Local Sejahtera Unggas Farmers Cooperative, Suwardi, said the price of feed corn from local farmers had touched Rp7,500 per kg. This price is much higher than the reference of Rp5,000 per kg.

"Starting May 2023, the price has been Rp. 6,000 and to this day, Rp. 6,500 has been received by farmers. That's what can be bought. In the corn mills, it's already Rp. 7,000," he said.

Suwardi said, based on Agency Number 5 of 2022, the lower limit for egg prices at the consumer level is IDR 22,000 per kg and an upper limit of IDR 24,000 per kg. But currently, the price received is only IDR 20,500, especially in the Blitar area.

"So the farmers have lost money. Today's HPP should be IDR 24,700 per kg, that's why farmers can only live with the current corn price conditions," he explained.
