Menkop UKM Hopes Residential To Offices In IKN Use Domestic Furniture
JAKARTA - Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs (Menkop UKM) Teten Masduki hopes that residential buildings to offices in the State Capital (Nusantara) will be able to use the furniture industry from within the country.
"The need for furniture in IKN is enormous. Hopefully, domestic products can be filled. We are grateful to be able to reach 100 percent of domestic products, this is a challenge for furniture business actors," said Minister Teten in a written statement received by VOI, Friday, September 15.
Menteri Teten mengatakan, bahwa selain perangkalan akan banyak juga rumah tinggal termasuk fasilitas-fasilitas lainnya seperti perhotelan yang membutuhkan furnitur.
"Once again, this is our challenge. However, apart from involving big businesses, MSME players must also be part of the furniture industry supply chain," he said.
In addition, Teten also emphasized that furniture is a leading domestic product to enter the global market, as well as the domestic market.
Teten assessed that Indonesia has considerable potential, ranging from potential raw materials to human resources (HR). In fact, with strong cultural potential rooted in the community, Indonesian furniture products can be competitive in the world market.
Therefore, he hopes that furniture business actors will develop their business model and establish partnerships with the furniture industry in the world.
"By partnering, from the production side, there will be business, technology, and market transfers," he said.
According to Teten, business actors must know the demands or needs and tastes of the market in other countries. He also emphasized the importance of partnership patterns that furniture business actors must take advantage of.
"Pola partnership must continue to be encouraged, and no longer make their own products, so if you want to enter the global market, there must be partnerships," he added.
