Jeep Gladiator 2024 Has More Superior Off-Road Capabilities Supported By Latest Technology
JAKARTA - At the ongoing North American International Detroit Auto Show 2023 in the US, Jeep officially introduced the Gladiator who carried various updates, making it one of the mainstay models in the product lineup in 2024.
The Gladiator, who has been known as a high-performance off-road vehicle with a medium-sized pickup truck model, is now appearing with fresher faces and impressive innovations. One of its main advantages is an off-road capability that has been improved, which will captivate fans of wild adventures.
Jim Morrison, Vice President and Head of Jeep North America, explained that the latest technology applied to the 2024 Gladiator will help its owners explore various terrains with more confidence.
"The new 2024Jeep Gladiator reflects the strength of the Jeep community and their commitments continue to improve capabilities, advanced technology, and safety improvements," Morrison said in a statement Wednesday, September 13.
Despite presenting various updates, the 2024 Gladiator retains its trademark with a body-on-frame design that has proven to be robust and long-lasting. The suspension of five links carefully designed by Jeep engineers remains a mainstay to overcome the terrain.
Jeep also introduced the use of light materials, namely aluminum, in a number of vehicle components such as doors, door hinges, engine hoods, spatbors, front glass frames, and rear doors. This helps reduce vehicle weight and increase fuel efficiency.
One of the obvious changes is Jeep's signature seven-slot grille design that has been modified to improve the engine cooling system. In addition, the 2024 Gladiator is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital touch screen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as an Unconnect 5 system that makes it easier for users to access various services.
Jeep is also paying great attention to safety aspects. The 2024 Gladiator is equipped with more than 85 active and passive safety features, including an upgraded second row seat belt, structural fixes for side effects, standard side curtain airbags for both rows, and advanced ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) systems.
The engine used in the 2024 Gladiator is the 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 engine which can produce up to 285 horsepower and maximum torque of 352 Nm. The Engine Stop-Start (ESS) feature is also embedded to increase fuel efficiency.
Jeeps maintain a six-speed manual transmission as a standard, which will please off-road vehicle fans. However, for those who prefer convenience, there is also an eight-acceleration automatic transmission.

The 2024 Gladiator will be available in nine exterior color choices reflecting the driver's style and personality, as well as in various types such as Sport, Willys, Mojave, and Rubicon. Orders have been opened, and the first unit of the 2024 Gladiator will be delivered to customers later this year in the US.
