1,138 Rooms In 3 Flats Prepared For Temporary Relocation Of Rempang Residents Affected By Eviction
The Batam City Government (Pemkot) has prepared three flats or flats for around 202 rooms as temporary relocation sites for residents of Rempang who have been evicted by the Rempang Eco City project.
Head of the Batam City Communication and Information Office, Rudi Panjaitan, said that apart from the Batam City Government flats, several other flats were prepared, namely the Batam BP Flats (five flats), Jamsostek Flats (three flats), as well as shophouses and housing.
"There are three flat locations that have been prepared and have been submitted to the team. They are in the Kabil area, Tanjung Uncang, and currently all equipment has been mapped there," said Rudi in Batam, Tuesday, September 12, confiscated by Antara.
He said that overall there were 1,138 units prepared for temporary relocation for residents of Rempang.
"In Tanjung Uncang, there are two blocks available, now they are still being recorded. If it's not enough, we will prepare another relocation place again. But, so far it's still enough to use it temporarily," he said.

Regarding the readiness of sanitation in each flat, Rudi said it was also confirmed that it was ready to be used to meet the needs of relocated residents.
"All the standard needs for living places have been prepared and everything has been completed and anticipated, including the need for water, electricity, and other basic materials," he said.
Meanwhile, the implementation of learning for students in Rempang will also be moved around the temporary relocation site.
Students in Rempang will be prepared for school close to the flats. If the ratio is still possible to carry out teaching and learning there, then enter the existing classrooms.
"But, if it is not possible, later we will make another new shift. We facilitate all educational services and guarantee all of them. So, they are no longer in school in Rempang, but schools near flats," said Rudi.
