Tangerang KPU Finds TNI/Polri Members Registering As Candidates
TANGERANG - The General Election Commission (KPU) of Tangerang Regency, Banten found the involvement of elements of the TNI/Polri in the nomination of candidates for legislative members (bacaleg) in the area for the 2024 general election (election). Tangerang Regency KPU chairman Muhammad Umar in Tangerang, said that the findings indicated the involvement of the TNI/Polri when verifying the administrative files of the temporary candidate list (DCS). "From the results of yesterday's administrative verification, there was indeed (involvement of elements of the TNI/Polri, ed). However, it has been completed with his resignation letter," said Umar, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 12. He revealed that from the results of his discovery only one leg was found from the active TNI/Polri elements. However, currently the leg has completed his resignation letter as a member of the TNI/Polri. Umar also claimed that 778 readings of Tangerang Regency for the upcoming 2024 Election are no longer problematic. The reason is, until the end of the completeness of the list of candidates meanwhile, it does not reap a response from the public. Umar admitted that he is currently carrying out the verification stage of the permanent candidate list (DCT). This is considering that the completeness limit for candidates at the DCS stage will end on September 14, 2023.

According to Umar, DCT verification will start from September 14 to September 20. At this stage, political parties participating in the election can no longer make changes to their leg readings. "The end of DCS, which is until September 14. After that, we will verify it before it is determined to be DCT, unless there is a new regulation from the Indonesian KPU," he said.
