Reflecting On Princess Ariani And U2, Anji Criticizes Permit Policy For Bringing Songs In Indonesia
JAKARTA - Erdian Aji Prihartanto alias Anji also highlighted Putri Ariani's appearance at the 2023 Live Show Semifinal America's Got Talent (AGT).
Through his social media account, Anji uploaded news about Putri Ariani who got permission to perform songs from the U2.
Reflecting on the U2 which allowed Putri Ariani to perform her song at AGT 2023, Anji asked the management of the National Collective Management Institute (LMKN) and Wahana Musik Indonesia (WAMI) to study.
According to Anji, abroad, for a musician it is natural to prohibit the song from being sung.
"Dear @lmkn_id @wami.id, let's see this article. Abroad, songwriters have the right to allow or not the song to be sung by others," Anji wrote on his Instagram, viewed Friday, September 8.
Then, the former Drive vocalist questioned the statements of LMKN and WAMI which did not justify the ban on songs by their creators.
"You gave a written statement to the public that songwriters cannot permission others to perform the song. I criticized the statement because it could mislead the public," said Anji.

It doesn't stop there, Anji also highlighted the rights that a songwriter should get, namely moral rights and economic rights.

"Maybe @thekadrimohamad also needs to be mentioned, so you know that this 'boy in a hat' has a strong reason to be one of the funnels in amplifying the voices of the songwriters who are members (and not yet) in @aksibersatu," he concluded.
