Piyu Hopes That ACTION Can Be A Mediator For Song Creators With Artists
JAKARTA - The conflict between songwriters and singers is in the spotlight. Many songwriters feel that they don't get the economic rights they should receive, even though the songs they create are very popular.
A number of famous songwriters, such as Ahmad Dhani, Piyu, Rieka Roslan to Posan Tobing also joined the All-Indonesian Composter Association (AKSI).
Satriyo Yudi Wahono alias Piyu, guitarist for the band Padi Reborn who serves as the General Chair of ACTION hopes that this association will help improve the welfare of songwriters.
In addition, Piyu also hopes that ACTION can mediate with songwriters with people who perform their songs.
"So we will become a mediator association (intermediary) for conflicts between songwriters and their artists," Piyu said, quoted from his YouTube channel, Thursday, September 7.
"We want to make it like that, if there is a conflict, friends of ACTION will become the mediators," he continued.
That way, both parties are expected to reach a favorable agreement. If the mediation does not succeed, the ACTION is also willing to take legal action.
"But when we talk and discussion, we can't, that's fine, we go to legal matters," said Piyu.
