In The AIPF Forum, Erick Thohir Alludes To The Potential Of BUMN And Private Business
JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said ASEAN-Indo-Pacific Forum (AIPF) 2023 is a platform for countries in ASEAN and external partners to open constructive dialogue, which produces real projects that increase collaboration in the Indo-Pacific region.
For your information, AIPF 2023 officially starts today. This forum aims to connect the private sector and the public in the ASEAN Indo-Pacific Region to stronger cooperation.
The AIPF 2023 is a forum that complements the agenda of the 43rd ASEAN Summit. This forum will be held on September 5-6, 2023, at the Mulia Hotel, Jakarta.
"This Forum is part of the ASEAN leadership in 2023 which functions as a platform for constructive dialogue and advances inclusive and concrete collaboration between private and government public companies," he said at the opening of AIPF 2023, at the Mulia Hotel, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, September 5.
On that occasion, Erick said there were three important sub-themes that had to be developed.
First, green infrastructure and a strong supply chain.
Second, innovative sustainable payments. Third, as well as digital inclusive transformation and the creative economy.
The AIPF forum features talks of leaders, telephone chats, panel discussions, project exhibitions, and business matching sessions.
Forum participants are public and private sector executives and leaders from ASEAN member countries and partner countries.
Erick said that this time AIPF also featured various leading projects in Indonesia and throughout Indo-Pacific, in line with AIPF sub-themes. A number of Indonesian SOEs, including BRI, Pertamina, PLN, Bank Mandiri, BNI, MIND ID, Telkom Indonesia, and InJourney will actively participate in AIPF 2023.
"AIPF will be an important momentum to showcase, strengthen, and expand the collaboration of the public-private sector in the ASEAN and Indo-Pacific regions, which will next make ASEAN the epicenter of growth," he said.

For your information, the implementation of AIPF is a real implementation of the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP), which was adopted by ASEAN member countries in 2019.
The AOIP initiative itself aims to strengthen the regional architecture that is inclusive, encourage collaboration, strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, and seize opportunities that exist in the Indo-Pacific region.
