SBY Reveals New Coalition Offer: There Is A Minister Of Logistics, It's As Far As The Village Head Knows
Chairman of the Upper House of the Democratic Party Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) revealed that there was an offer to form a new coalition consisting of his party, PKS, and PPP to run for the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).
The offer, said SBY, was conveyed by an active minister in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet led by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin.
"We also know that a minister, currently, the minister is still active from the working cabinet of President Jokowi's leadership, intensively lobbying, including the Democratic Party by offering to invite to form a new coalition, the Democratic coalition, PKS, and PPP. The person concerned said that the initiative was already known to the Lurah. The minister's words, not my words," said SBY while giving directions at the Democratic High Council (MTP) session at his private residence, Puri Cikeas, Bogor, West Java, reported by ANTARA, Friday, September 1.
At that time, SBY did not mention the name of the minister he was referring to. Several senior Democratic administrators and cadres also refused to answer questions related to the minister's name.
SBY also revealed that there were offers to join the group of other presidential candidates, namely from Ganjar Pranowo and Prabowo Subianto. The meeting of the Democratic Chairperson Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) and the Chairperson of the PDI-P DPP Puan Maharani discussed the offer of cooperation.
"Secondly, Pak Prabowo came to Pacitan to meet me and also conveyed his invitation," said SBY.
He considered the invitations offered by Ganjar and Prabowo were good, legitimate, and open political ways.
"That is justified in democracy and the world of politics. I also listen to his invitation sincerely and seriously. He did it openly, the public also knows. This is good for political transparency compared to mystery underground maneuvers," said the chairman of the Democratic Party's Upper House.
However, despite these offers, SBY suggested that the Democrats should not immediately decide on their stance, but wait until the situation is calm.

"In my view, today, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, it is not time for us to make a decision on where the Democrats will join or which presidential candidate we support. I think it is not yet time," he said.
SBY chaired the Democratic High Council Session accompanied by Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, his eldest son who is also the General Chair of the Democrats and the Deputy Chairman of the High Council, then Andi Alfian Mallarangeng who is the Secretary of the Democratic High Council.
Andi Mallarangeng then conveyed two points as a result of the Party High Council Session, namely the Democrats officially revoked support for Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate, and the Democrats also officially left the Change Coalition for Unity (KPP).
