The Joint Team Successfully Disclosed 2 Locations Of Forest And Land Fires In North Penajam Paser
The joint team from various elements in Penajam Paser Utara (PPU) Regency, East Kalimantan, managed to extinguish forest and land fires (karhutla) in two locations this Friday, namely in Babulu District and Penajam District.
"The forest and land fires in Penajam District are located in RT 15, Nenang Village with an area of 6.76 hectares burned," said PPU Regency Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Budi Santoso, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, September 1.
Meanwhile, the forest and land fires that occurred in Babulu District, are located in RT 06, Babulu Darat Village with an area of 1.5 hectares on fire.
The joint teams involved in the blackout of forest and land fires today are the Penajam Fire and Rescue Service (DPKP), the Petung Post DPKP, PPU BPBD, PPU Agriculture Service, PPU Police, 0913/PPU Kodim, Babinsa, Bhabinkamtibmas, and the local Satpol PP.

"The material that burned about 6.76 hectares is a mineral land with shrubs and trees on land, while the chronology and cause of the fire are still under investigation by the police," said Budi.
After reports came in, the joint team immediately coordinated with all related elements, then headed to the location to extinguish the fire together, either manually extinguished, using fire tankers, or by spraying from portable machines.

As for the forest and land fires in Babulu Darat, the report was received at 08.54 WITA. His party immediately moved and arrived at the location at 09.00 WITA.
"As soon as they received the report via telephone, the afternoon picket officer went straight to the location to extinguish the fire, followed by cooling. When they felt safe and there was no potential for further fires, the officer returned to the post to be on standby," said Dahlan.
