Cak Imin Urges The Government To Immediately Take Emergency Steps To Overcome Air Pollution In Jabodetabek
Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar asked the government to seriously address the problem of air pollution in the areas of Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek)."I ask the government to immediately take emergency steps because our breathing has started an emergency due to unhealthy air in Jabodetabek," he said in a written statement in Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, August 27.This affirmation was conveyed by Muhaimin while attending the "Green Walk" and Jalan Sehat" with thousands of Bekasi residents in Lapang Multipurpose, Bekasi City.Muhaimin highlighted the high air pollution in the Jabodetabek area. According to him, the air quality in Jabodetabek in the last few weeks has been very bad and must be anticipated immediately."Today there is a commitment to 'Green Walk' as part of our efforts to move the community, to help ourselves with the bad weather phenomenon," he said.He reminded the central and regional governments to be responsible for the problem. He asked the government to immediately take emergency steps to overcome the worsening pollution."We all protest that the government's handling of bad air doesn't look serious, there are no 'emergency' steps, even though the air we are fighting in Jabodetabek is 'emergency'," said Cak Imin.The Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives invited all parties to work together to cultivate a healthy life to reduce the high level of pollution, especially in the Jabodetabek area.As a concrete step, Cak Imin distributed thousands of tree seedlings to all participants of "Green Walk". He invited all PKB cadres to commit to planting in their respective regions in order to create a healthy and green Indonesia.
"People, especially PKB residents, must protect the environment, starting from planting trees, greening the environment, and greening Indonesia," he ordered.
