Land Status At The Petojo Selatan Fire Location Is Still Buram, Residents Claim To Always Pay PBB

JAKARTA - A number of residents who were victims of the fire on Gang Kober Street, Petojo Selatan Village, Gambir District, Central Jakarta could only surrender to see their houses destroyed after the flames scorched their houses on Wednesday, August 23.

Residents look confused about the fate of their place of residence, whether it can be rebuilt or not.

According to H (63), one of the residents who did not want to be named, admitted that there were still many residents living in this area who did not have certificates.

"The status of the land in the past was verponding, between leases between the eras of the land owner first. So after the Netherlands entered, he fled, he was the owner of the land. So this was donated. There is no certificate," he told VOI at the location of the fire, Friday, August 25.

H said many residents claim land at this time because they have lived for decades.

"If it is said (the information known) that President Jokowi is 20 years and 30 years old, it is his property, that's it. But I don't understand either," he said.

To the knowledge of H, in this area there is only one person who has a letter in the form of verponding. However, it is owned by the oldest person here.

"There is one person who owns it, verponding. Parents here have one. But so far, residents here have paid the PBB, that's it," he said.

In addition, H also confirmed that there were companies targeting densely populated areas. He was also aware of the information and issues that had been circulating for years.

"There are also, I also heard that there are people. Some are interested in this land. I heard that, that's why residents want to collect it first, how will it be in the future," he said.

As is known, as a result of a fire on Jalan Gang Kober, Petojo Selatan Village, Gambir District, Central Jakarta, as many as 960 people from 240 families (KK) in 4 RTs were affected by the fire. They took refuge in the Al-Fauz Mosque and the Central Jakarta City Government hall.
