KAI Serves 205 Thousand Foreign Passengers Throughout 2023

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) noted that there were 205,078 passengers of foreign nationals (WNA) during the period January to July 2023.

This number increased 82 percent compared to the same period in 2022.

KAI's VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus said the number of passengers shows that trains are not only in demand by the domestic community, but also a prima donna for foreign nationals who are traveling in Indonesia.

KAI not only serves domestic customers, but also foreign customers from various countries. An increase of 82 percent compared to last year, shows an increase in the trust of all parties, including foreign passengers in KAI services that are reliable, safe, and on time," he said, in Jakarta, Thursday, August 24.

Joni said the trains that were favorites of foreigners during January to July 2023 were the Argo Wilis train for the Bandung-Surabaya Gubeng pp route as many as 5,793 passengers. Then, the Sancaka train for the Yogyakarta-Surabaya Gubeng pp route was 4,063 passengers.

Dan KA Argo Dwipangga rute Gambir-Solo Balapan pp sebanyak 3,731 penumpang, ucapnya.

Joni said, the travel route that became the favorite of foreigners in that period was Gambir-Bandung relation with a total of 19,352 passengers. Then, Bandung-Gambir as many as 15,558 passengers.

"And the Gambir-Yogyakarta route with a total of 10,820 passengers," he said.

Joni hopes that, through various service improvements in rail transportation so far, he can become an ambassador for the Indonesian nation to give a positive impression, as well as promote the beauty of tourism in the eyes of the world.

"Hopefully KAI can give a positive impression to continue promoting Indonesia's progress through railways. At the same time as a real support for the revival of the Indonesian tourism world," he said.
