Florence Pugh Says Christopher Nolan Apologizes For His Role In Oppenheimer

JAKARTA - Florence Pugh said director Christopher Nolan apologized to her about the film Oppenheimer. Pugh, who got a small role in this film, apparently made Nolan feel bad about his acting portion.

Florence Pugh plays Jean Tatlock, a community member who has a romantic relationship with J. Robert Oppenheimer played by Cillian Murphy.

"I don't really know what's going on or what's being made," Florence Pugh told MTV.

Florence Pugh received an offer as Jean Tatlock directly from Nolan, but at that time Nolan apologized for his small portion of the role compared to other actors.

"I know Chris really wanted me to know that his role wasn't great and he understood if I refused that role," Pugh explained.

"And I replied, 'It's not important. Even if I act as a coffee maker in a cafe behind the room, let's do it,' said Pugh in agreement with the offer.

Pugh met Nolan in New York when he filmed the film A Good Person. Nolan came to discuss his role which was considered an important moment for Pugh as an actress.

"I remember he apologized for his role. I also replied 'Please don't apologize' and he said 'We will send the script, and to be honest you read it... and decide (to refuse) I understand the portion,' Florence Pugh said.

"And I remember that afternoon when I received the script, I was like 'I don't need (the script)... I knew I was going to accept this film," Pugh continued.

Christopher Nolan's apology occurred because Florence Pugh was one of the actresses with a series of hit films. Debut since 2014, Pugh has starred in dozens of popular films and series such as Lady totaling, King Lear, Midsommar, Little Woman, and Don't Worry Darling.

In addition, Pugh is also often trusted to be the main character in his various acting projects, while Jean Tatlock's appearance in the film Oppenheimer is not as big as other characters.
