PR Chief Of Police Idham Azis Resolves Novel Case

JAKARTA - National Police Chief Gen. Idham Azis at a public hearing (RDPU) with Commission III of the DPR is urged to immediately resolve the case of sprinkling hard water against the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) senior investigator Novel Baswedan. Because, the case that occurred in 2017 has not been resolved until now.

A member of Commission III of the PPP faction, Arsul Sani, said that the Novel Baswedan case was quite a burden on the National Police institution. Not only that, the incomplete case of this case also created prejudice from the public towards the police institution.

"We hope that there is progress that can be updated to Commission III continuously. If now there is no progress, what can I say. But this is again, we hope that this will be of particular concern to the Chief of Police," said Arsul, at the RDPU meeting between Commission III and Kapolda throughout Indonesia, at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 20.

In his opinion, a member of Commission III of the Democratic faction, Benny Kabur Harman, was surprised. The Novel Baswedan case that occurred in 2017 has not yet been resolved, while the bomb case that occurred at the Medan Police Headquarters has recently been identified as the suspect.

"If the suspect who is in Medan is resolved very quickly, his case will be disclosed. So why hasn't the Novel Baswedan case been? Why is it taking so long ?," asked Benny.

Benny admitted that he was worried that if this case was not resolved in the near future by the Police, it would be a burden for President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"We are afraid that this will become a political debt, a legal debt for Mr. President Joko Widodo later. Please sincerely, Sir, reveal who the perpetrator is," he said.

The former Chairman of Commission III also claimed that Idham Azis actually knew who was the mastermind behind the sprinkling of hard water on the senior KPK investigator.

"I know for sure that the National Police Chief knows who the perpetrator is, there is only a willingness not to arrest him," he said.

Answering this question, National Police Chief General Idham Azis admitted that his party was still working to uncover Novel's case. In addition, Idham also asked for prayers that this case will be resolved soon.

"Hopefully, soon there will be significant developments and findings. So that we can reveal as soon as possible. Incidentally I am still Kabareskrim, there is no replacement for me, it is still being processed at Wanjakti. So I can assure you that we will continue to work and work," he said.

However, related to Benny's accusation that Idham actually knew who the perpetrator of the hard water sprinkling was, Idham did not answer.
