Familiar, Jokowi Joked with President of Kenya, Inviting Him to Visit Indonesia For a Month
JAKARTA - Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media, Presidential Secretariat Bey Machmudin explained that Indonesian President Joko Widodo had joked with Kenyan President William Ruto, when Jokowi invited him to visit Indonesia.
The moment the two leaders seemed to laugh together was seen when President William Ruto was about to send off President Jokowi and his delegation at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Monday, August 21.
"On this occasion, Mr. President invited the President of Kenya to visit Indonesia. However, Mr. President requested that the President of Kenya not only stay in Indonesia for 1-2 days," Bey said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 23.
Bey said that President Jokowi asked President William Ruto not to visit Indonesia for just 1-2 days.
This is because President Jokowi will invite the President of Kenya to see the downstream industry which is being seriously undertaken by the Government of Indonesia.
Responding to this, the President of Kenya asked Jokowi, "How long?"
"Mr. President answered spontaneously: one month. Both of them laughed together," said Bey.
