JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) held the 2023 Indonesian Sovereign Rupiah Festival (Ferbi) as an offering of the 78th Indonesian Independence Day on August 18-20 at Istora Senayan Jakarta.
It was stated that this agenda was an event to educate rupiah money widely.
BI Governor Perry Warjiyo said that rupiah currency had been named the best money in the world in the 2023 period.
"Today is the day of appreciation that the rupiah is sovereign in the Republic of Indonesia. Let's appreciate the fighters, our seniors," he said in a press release today, Friday, August 18.
Perry explained that the festival held by the central bank consisted of various activities, such as new money exchanges, ancient money exhibitions, and entertainment performances.
He revealed that Bank Indonesia is an official money dealer institution in the country.
Therefore, he wants to ensure that rupiah currency is the only legal transaction tool in Indonesia.
For information, in February 2023 the public can identify payment instruments retrospectively through more than 100 collections of ancient money presented by the BI Museum (MuBI).
