Veterans Of Guards General Sudirman And General Ahmad Yani, Praise The Attention Of The Central Java Provincial Government
SEMARANG - The Central Java Provincial Government's attention to veterans is continuous, including during the commemoration of the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia (RI). This was acknowledged by Captain CPM Sanjoto, one of the veterans who had escorted General Sudirman, and Ahmad Yani.
"Right now I don't work, I get a salary from the TNI, so I get a salary from a veteran. Marem, my struggle was appreciated before," said Sanjoto after attending the ceremony of the 78th Indonesian Independence Day at Simpanglima Field, Semarang City, Thursday.
It is known, the attention of the Central Java Provincial Government to veterans born in Solo in 1930 continues. One of them, the Central Java Provincial Government, REI and Denpom Semarang in 2020 worked hand in hand to repair their houses on Jalan Belimbing Raya number 34 Peterongan Village, South Semarang, Semarang City.
At this moment of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, Sanjoto advised the current generation to rise up against doubts about themselves. Because Indonesia must move forward in the future.
"My message to the youth, to get up, fight doubt. The children are still doubtful now. Opponents of doubt, continue to advance for Indonesia to advance. On your shoulders this nation," said Sanjoto.
He hopes that the attitude of today's youth can be like himself when he was young. Sanjoto as a young man was persistent against the invaders. In 1943, he recalled, he fought with Japanese colonialists in the Solo area. He and other fighters took off Japanese weapons.

Another struggle he remembers was in 1948, he joined the guerrillas to seize Indonesia's sovereignty and succeeded.
"I also escorted Mr. Dirman (General Sudirman), also escorted Pak Yani (General Ahmad Yani). I am a combat force," recalled Sanjoto.
Now, he said, a friend of his previous struggle has passed away. As he recalls, Sanjoto had met two friends in his struggle. But now, he can no longer meet them.
"Now I've been looking for friends, nothing," he said.
