52 Ships Burned, Fishermen At The Fisheries Port Of Jongor Beach Tegal Can't Work Yet
TEGAL Tuesday morning, August 15, fishermen at Jongor Beach Fishing Port (PPP), Tegalsari Village, Tegal City have not been able to carry out their activities in finding fish after the fire that hit dozens of ships since Monday night, August 14.
Until now, local residents are still cooling ships that are still emitting smoke at the port.
Joint officers are also still at the location of the fire to carry out inspections. Based on written information received, the number of ships burned was 52 fishing vessels.
Tegal City Police Chief AKBP Jaka Wahyudi said that his party had collected data on the burning ships.
"From the results of the temporary data collection, 52 ships caught fire. As for the number of losses and the cause of the fire, we cannot mention it yet. Because it is still under investigation and currently we are still focused on the process of extinguishing the fire," said AKBP Jaka Wahyudi.
Jaka added that in response to the ship fire incident at the Port of Tegal City, the Central Java Police immediately dispatched an Assistant Team to find out directly and assist in handling fires.
"Karo Ops Polda Central Java Kombes Basya Radyananda and Dirpolairud Kombes Hariadi directly led fire assistance activities to find out directly and help direct the handling of fire fighting," concluded the Police Chief.

According to witnesses at the location, the beginning of the fire incident at around 18.30 WIB, Monday, August 14. The beginning of the fire appeared from the ship KM Kurnia Jaya which was leaning. Until finally the fire spread and spread to other ships.
"The wind conditions are big and many ships are anchored in close positions. So the flames quickly grabbed the other ships. Dozens of fire engines from Tegal City, Brebes, Slawi and Water Cannon Polres cars also extinguished the fire and localized the burning ships," said Jaka.
Meanwhile, to save other ships that have not been burned, the Police Chief continued, joint officers are trying to open the ship's flow to get out. So that one by one the ship can move away from the location of the fire," he added.
