PPP Affirms Being In The Ganjar Coalition, Continues To Encourage Sandiaga To Be A Vice Presidential Candidate

DENPASAR - Acting Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP) Muhammad Mardiono emphasized that the appointment of Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno as the vice presidential candidate from his party was not for practical politics, but to welcome the demographic bonus.

"This also solely answers Indonesia's challenges, not personally (Sandiaga Uno) but we calculate the dynamics of politics, capability, track record, and character of all we present to the people," said Mardiono as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 14.

In Denpasar, Bali, after meeting with Governor Wayan Koster Mardiono, he explained that Indonesia will have a population of 300 million people and 66 percent of them are productive residents.

According to him, by guarding the 2024 General Election and giving birth to the right president and vice president, the demographic bonus momentum can be achieved, and vice versa.

"We know that other countries that failed to pick up the demographic bonus in the end were difficult and many became IMF patients. This is the importance of election success in producing leaders who can continue the leadership relay that can answer global challenges," said Mardiono.

WHETHER Sandiaga Uno was elected as a vice presidential candidate paired with Ganjar Pranowo, PPP will also fully submit it to the decisions of coalition political parties, namely PDI Perjuangan, PPP, Hanura, and Perindo.

Although political opponents are increasingly unanimous in determining the coalition, PPP is also confident that it will go hand in hand with Ganjar Pranowo and the PDI-P.

"I believe that Mr. Ganjar has been cadred by President Jokowi, he has characteristics similar to Jokowi and a similar background. He was born from a village from a life with the community and has almost the same career until Jakarta," said Mardiono.

In addition, Ganjar Pranowo in his position as Governor of Central Java is also paired with PPP cadre Taj Yasin Maimoen so that he is considered to have been trusted in working together.

"Then Pak Jokowi in the first election his victory was only supported by three political parties, namely the PDI-P, PKB, and Nasdem, now that PKB joined Gerindra, PPP was replaced, and Nasdem was replaced by Perindo and Hanura. Hopefully, Pak Ganjar's vote will be the same as Pak Jokowi's acquisition," said Mardiono.
