JAKARTA - The People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) will hold an annual session on Wednesday, August 16. The event, which was attended directly by President Joko Widodo, will be held from 09.30 to 15.00 WIB.
"The annual session of the MPR will be held in a series of sessions with the DPR and DPD which will be attended by approximately 1,549 invitations, including the president and vice president, former president and former vice president, former chairman of the MPR/DPR and DPD, leaders of state institutions, all members of the MPR consisting of the DPR and DPD, the ministers of the advanced Indonesian cabinet and ministerial-level officials," said MPR Chairman Bambang Soesatyo, at the Nusantara IV building, Parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, August 14.

The main agenda of the MPR annual session and the joint session of the DPR/DPD in 2023 was the speech of the President of the Republic of Indonesia regarding the submission of report on the performance of state institutions, as well as state speeches in the context of the 78th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.
"The main point of the MPR annual session is approximately, first, the opening of the MPR annual session and the joint session of the DPR and DPD by the chairman of the MPR. Second, the introductory speech of the chairman of the MPR in the context of the MPR annual session. Third, the introductory speech of the chairman of the DPD in the context of a joint session with the DPR and DPD," explained Bamsoet.

Bamsoet also revealed various preparations that had been made by the MPR RI to ensure that the agenda for the 2023 MPR session went smoothly and successfully. Among them, through a meeting of the leaders of the assembly on August 8, 2023 and a meeting of the assembly's consultations with the president of the Republic of Indonesia on August 9.
"And to strengthen the preparation for the rehearsal for the trial will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, August 15 at 13.00," he added.
In addition to the agenda of the 2023 MPR Annual Session, the MPR will also hold another national agenda.
