This Is Fortunately Conversion To Electric Motorcycles, Can Save 80 Percent Every Month
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) continues to boost the target of converting electric motorcycles by 50,000 units by the end of 2023.
Director of Conservation of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Gigih Udi Atmo simulated, if per day conventional motorbikes charge 1 liter of pertalite fuel, then in a month the expenditure for fuel is IDR 300,000.
But when compared to the conversion electric motor, in a month the expenditure for fuel only costs around Rp. 60,000, or there is an 80 percent savings every month.
"If the motorbike is converted to the same use, with electricity of around Rp. 1,300 or Rp. 1,400 per KWh, then the cost incurred every month is Rp. 60,000, so there is a savings of Rp. 240,000 per month," he explained, Monday, August 14.
In addition to saving expenses, Gigih also assured that the use of conversion electric motors will also increase national energy security and state foreign exchange reserves.

Because the number of fuel motorcycles paving now reaches 120 million units, and if all of these motorbikes use 1 liter of fuel per day, it will consume more than 650,000 barrels of oil per day, or exceed current national oil production.
"If the price of 1 barrel of oil is equivalent to a purchase of USD 80, if converted, we spend almost Rp800 billion on oil imports, we spend it every day. Implications will have an impact on our energy security, because it is only from motorbikes and not yet other vehicles," said Gigih.
Therefore, the electric motor conversion program is one of the solutions to this problem, the government has also shown commitment and synergy between agencies to make it easier for the public to want and take part in the conversion program of electric motorcycles, where the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Transportation, and the National Police already have a Joint Decree (SKB).
"So that it can be interpreted that the three government institutions support and synergize with each other in the implementation of the electric motor conversion program with their respective duties and responsibilities," Gigih concluded.
