Jabodetabek LRT Tickets And Fast Trains Will Be Subsidized By The Government

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) ensured that the tickets for the Jabodebek LRT train, the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train, the MRT, and a number of other modes of transportation would be subsidized by the government. "There is a subsidy, whether it's called the airport train, whether it's Transjakarta, KRL, whether it's called the train, whether it's called the LRT, whether it's called the fast train, everything must have its subsidies," said Jokowi at Dukuh Atas Station, Jakarta, quoted by ANTARA Thursday, August 10.Jokowi on that occasion tried the Jabodebek Lintas Bekasi LRT train from Jatimulya Station, Bekasi, West Java to Dukuh Atas Station, Jakarta. The president said the subsidy would be given through Public Service Obligation (PSO). The provision of such subsidies in order to ease the ticket price of transportation modes charged to consumers. That way, Jokowi hopes that people can move to mass transportation from the use of private vehicles.
