Poppy Capella Denies Accepting Bribes For Miss Universe Indonesia 2023
JAKARTA - The case of Miss Universe Indonesia (MUI) 2023 continues to grow. Starting from allegations of sexual harassment, now rumors about the receipt of bribes that won the 2023 MUI are starting to circulate on the internet.
Poppy Capella as the National Director of Miss Universe Indonesia is aware of the development of a number of these rumors. She released a statement containing objections to allegations related to her and the Miss Universe Indonesia organization.
"We are very concerned about the allegations that recently circulated that the Miss Universe Indonesia organization received some money from the winner of Miss Universe Indonesia. We want to emphasize that these allegations are baseless and false," said Poppy Capella through Miss Universe Indonesia's official account.
Our organization upholds justice, transparency, and professionalism in every aspect of our operations. Each contestant is tested based on his achievements, abilities, and attributes and no other financial or considerations involved in our selection process," he said.
According to him, the Miss Universe Indonesia title which is said to be able to be purchased indicates that the hard work of each contestant seems ignored.

"The integrity of our competition is the most important and we have protocols and supervision in ensuring its credibility. We are committed to the principles that underlie the Miss Universe franchise," he said again.
They also reminded that spreading false news is a dangerous act of slander. If later they find this news to continue to develop, Miss Universe Indonesia will not hesitate to take legal action.
The Miss Universe Indonesia 2023 problem began when one of the contestants revealed that there was sexual harassment that occurred in the selection process. This happened even before the Grand Final night was held on Thursday, August 3.
Then the chaos grew even more after two important people in the board of directors resigned. Eldwen Wang, CEO of Miss Universe Indonesia resigned and argued that he would focus on his career in his hometown.
Likewise with Rio Motret as the visual director who stated that he was resigning due to the many projects that had to be worked on immediately. Not only that, Slam Wiyono as the director of beauty also resigned.
