Food Menu For AIPA Delegation: Starting From Ice Doger, Soto Lamongan To Market Snacks

The delegation of the 44th ASEAN Inter Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) General Assembly received a traditional Indonesian cultural and food performance. As the host of the parliamentary forum for Southeast Asian countries, the Indonesian House of Representatives wants to show Indonesia's face on the international stage.

The delegations of the 44th AIPA General Assembly tonight attended the Gala Dinner organized by the Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives and the President of AIPA in 2023, Puan Maharani at the Mulia Hotel, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, August 7 evening.

At the beginning of the event, delegates consisting of AIPA members, observer state parliaments, and representatives of a number of international organizations were treated with cultural arts performances. These include the appearance of Tarek Pukat Dance from Aceh, Pama Kipas Dance from South Sulawesi, and angklung music.

The AIPA delegation also enjoyed the appearance of singers who performed old songs such as Widuri's song. They looked fascinated by the beauty of Indonesian culture, especially the many performers who wore traditional clothes. Some are wearing traditional Ternate clothes, North Maluku, to traditional Balinese and Javanese clothes.

The 44th AIPA General Assembly is one of the peaks of the chairmanship of the DPR RI at AIPA following the presidency of the DPR as Chair of AIPA in 2023, which is in line with Indonesia's chairmanship in ASEAN. In addition to the Chairperson and Member of the parliamentary Delegation of Southeast Asian countries, the AIPA General Assembly was also attended by representatives from 18 observer countries and guests, as well as 10 international organizations.

A total of 605 people attended the AIPA General Assembly in Jakarta. Today, the prestigious event in ASEAN was officially opened by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Puan herself has also led a number of agendas at the 44th AIPA General Assembly.

The former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture also said that the 44th AIPA Session Galanner was a celebration of the achievement of friendship and partnership of ASEAN countries. Puan said, this is a moment to reflect on the bonds that have been built by the delegates, both personally and as a nation. While enjoying delicious food, interesting conversations, and cultural exchange, let's continue to foster the spirit of collaboration. Hopefully tonight's event inspires us to further strengthen friendship," said the grandson of Bung Karno. I hope you enjoy the food, show and hope you are happy to live in Jakarta, "added Puan.

At the Gala Dinner, the delegation of the AIPA Session did seem happy to receive Indonesian specialties. Some traditional foods served include Soto Lamongan, Sate Lilit Bali, Tofu Magelang, Chicken Capture, Pempek, Padang Meat and others.

"It's a little spicy for me, but very delicious. All delegates love the food served tonight," said one of the delegates from the Moroccan Parliament who became an observer at the 44th AIPA Session.

Indonesia is a nice country, and I will return to visit Indonesia as a tourist with my family. Really nice and very excited," continued the man.

In the buffer area, it was seen that the AIPA delegation lined up to be able to enjoy Indonesian specialties. Soto Lamongan became one of the food idols that the delegates tested.

"This is my second bowl. I really like Soto Lamongan, but all the food here is delicious," said Philippine Parliament Member Glona Lapidanabad.

Glona also assessed that the 44th AIPA Session in Jakarta was presented by the DPR in a slick manner.

"And the people in Indonesia, including the staff, are very good. Overall, our experience in Jakarta in AIPA is perfect," he said.

It's not just the heavy food that caught the attention of the AIPA delegation at the Gala Dinner. The various snacks served made the invited guests curious.

Not a few have asked the officers about the dishes they chose. For example, such as serabi, Palu Butung Ice, Cendol, Es Dawet and Es Doger, to various other market hawker tigers.

"Food is very good, i like it. It feels like ice cream," said the Norwegian Parliamentary delegation who was the observer at the 44th AIPA Session, Christian, while eating Ice Doger.

Christian also admitted that he enjoyed the cultural arts performances displayed at this event. He praised the DPR, which he said succeeded in making the delegates impressed.

"The show is great. The hosts are very good. Very well organized," he concluded.
