The Online Taxi Driver Murder Case, The Perpetrator Uses A Kitchen Knife To Stabbed Him
JAKARTA - The Kediri Police, East Java, has succeeded in uncovering a murder case with the victim of an online taxi driver whose body was found in the trenches of the rice fields in Purwoasri District, Kediri Regency.
"We identified the body whose identity and address was in Pasuruan, working as an online taxi driver. From the results of the investigation we got information on the last online taxi order and we managed to arrest the suspect", said Kediri Police Chief Lukman Cahyono in Kediri, reported by Antara, Monday, February 1st.
He said the perpetrator with the initials HM (25), a resident of Pasuruan. He ordered an online taxi driven by M Kholis.
For the motive, HM initially asked to be taken to the Pandaan Pasuruan Terminal. However, after arriving at the location HM did not get out of the car but asked to be taken to Kediri in exchange for IDR 400 thousand.
After arriving in Kediri, the perpetrators did get out either. The perpetrator stabbed the victim in the left chest twice which resulted in the victim's grab driver dying.
"Then the victim was dumped in the Purwoasri area. Next, the perpetrator intended to steal the property of the victim by taking the victim's vehicle, cell phone, and money", he said.
The perpetrator, he said, was also thought to have planned the crime. The perpetrator had prepared a kitchen knife that would be used to threaten the victim. However, the perpetrator stabbed him until the victim died.
In fact, the victim's body was thrown into a ditch in the rice fields in Purwoasri District, Kediri Regency on Thursday, January 28. It is suspected that the stabbing was carried out early in the morning and the body was found in the afternoon.
"The perpetrator prepared a kitchen knife that was used to stab the victim. At the border when he wanted to enter Kediri Regency and not far from the location, the victim was thrown away", he said.
The Police Chief added that after committing the crime, the perpetrator took the victim's car to Pasuruan. However, the car was parked on the side of the road, making residents questioned and finally reported to the officers. Meanwhile, the victim's money was taken and his cellphone was thrown away.
After conducting an investigation, the police finally managed to solve the case. The perpetrator whose identity was already known also had a chance to fight back when he was about to be arrested until the officers paralyzed him. Currently, the perpetrator is at the Kediri Police Headquarters for further legal proceedings.
To the police, he admitted that he was in debt. There were several months in arrears in homeownership credit payments, so he was determined to do the action.
The police will charge the perpetrator with a crime, for violating Article 338 of the Criminal Code, Article 340 of the Criminal Code on Murder, and also Article 365 of the Criminal Code, paragraph 3 concerning acts of theft with violence that resulted in the victim's death.
