Mayor Eri Cahyadi Asks Surabaya Residents Not To Pay For Parking Without Carcis

Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi asked all Surabaya residents not to pay parking fees if they are not given tickets by officers or parking attendants (jukir).

"If there is a parking lot that doesn't pay a ticket, don't pay it, anywhere. Later, if someone pays, give me the money, give me a photo (parking attendant). But I ask residents never to pay," said Mayor Eri Cahyadi as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 7th.

However, if the Parking Attendant (Jukir) still insists on asking for money without giving a ticket, Eri asks residents to immediately contact the Command Center (CC) 112.

"If they are still forced, the car stops, immediately call 112. Don't get paid, because Surabaya shouldn't be like this," he said.

Eri Cahyadi previously received a complaint from residents about parking services without being given a ticket. The incident happened to a resident while parking at Siloam Hospital (RS) and in front of the BPJS Health Office.

"Surabaya, don't make noise, pity the residents here," said Cak Eri, his nickname.

In addition, Cak Eri also reminded all jukir in Surabaya not to withdraw the amount of parking fees exceeding the provisions, both for two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicle parking fees.

"If there is a ticket, then follow the ticket. If it costs Rp. 2,000, yes, Rp. 2,000, Rp. 5,000 for the car, Rp. 5,000," he said.

According to him, naughty actions could be carried out by illegal Jukir and parking attendants under the guidance of the Surabaya Transportation Service (Dishub).

"It's like we have acted on the jukir at Siloam, we have imposed a tipiring sanction and at the same time it was removed from the parking attendant. It was official, but he did not give a ticket, he immediately took it off," he said.

Therefore, the Mayor of Surabaya also asked residents to have the courage to firmly ask the jukir for a parking ticket. He admitted that he did not want to see his citizens being oppressed because of the problem of parking whose retribution did not comply with the provisions.

"If something is not right, wake up the Surabaya people, get up. The parking lot is withdrawn for Rp. 10,000, Rp. 20,000, pay ojok, report (don't want to pay, report)," he said.

Eri Cahyadi admitted that the Surabaya City Government (Pemkot) could not control or supervise all parking points in the City of Heroes. For this reason, if there are residents who experience losses regarding parking services, he asks to report to CC 112.

"I ask the Head of the Transportation Service to create a special number (complaint) that can be picked up 24 hours, this is being prepared. So later if you can't call 112, immediately call this hotline," he said.

As is known, the provisions related to the provision of parking tickets have been regulated in the Surabaya City Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 3 of 2018 concerning the Implementation of Parking in the City of Surabaya.

Article 19 of the Surabaya Regional Regulation No. 3 of 2018 states that parking attendants are obliged to provide parking tickets, proofs, or official and valid payment to parking service users and write parking vehicle numbers for each parking time.
