3 Methamphetamine Couriers Worth IDR 195 Million Arrested By Belitung Police

The Cobra Team of the Narcotics Unit of the Belitung Police, Bangka Belitung Islands, thwarted the circulation of narcotics by arresting three couriers of methamphetamine.

"We were able to prevent the circulation of methamphetamine after arresting three drug couriers, namely H (34), T (18), and E (26) on Friday (4/8)," said Belitung Police Chief AKBP Didik Subiyakto in Tanjung Pandan as reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 7.

AKBP Didik said his party would take firm action against perpetrators of narcotics violations because this type of crime is very dangerous for the community.

"The total value of methamphetamine that is to be circulated by perpetrators in the community reaches hundreds of millions of rupiah or as much as 195.45 grams of crystal methamphetamine," he explained.

Drug crimes that are very dangerous must be carried out prevention together starting from the active roles of community members, community leaders, religious leaders, youth leaders and others.

"We must be committed to fighting the threat of narcotics crimes because the police are unable to work optimally without the support of all parties," he said.

"The three perpetrators we snared under different articles. The perpetrators, H and T with the primary charge Article 114 Paragraph (2) Joncto Article 132 Paragraph (1) subsidiary Article 112 Paragraph (2) Joncto Article 132 Paragraph (1) Law Number 35 Year 2009 concerning Narcotics," he said.

Meanwhile, perpetrator E was charged with Article 114 Paragraph (1) and or Article 112 Paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 Year 2009 concerning Narcotics.
