Through Money Politics, AHY Admits That There Are 5 Figures Who Have Struggled With Their Positions. Target, The Democrat Party Outbreak

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Democrat Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), admitted that he received reports that his party cadres were rewarded with money to participate in the movement to take over the position of the Democrat Ketum.

He revealed this in a press conference accompanied by Secretary General of Democrats Teuku Riefky Harsya, Chairman of the Honorary Democrat Council Hinca Pandjaitan, and Chairman of the Democratic Party Court, Nachrowi Ramli.

"Movement actors are targeting 360 voters (party cadres) who must be invited and influenced in exchange for large amounts of money," said AHY at the DPP Democrat Office, Central Jakarta, Monday, February 1.

AHY explained, this movement was welcomed by five figures. They consist of one active Democrat cadre, one cadre who has been inactive for 6 years, one former cadre who was dishonorably dismissed for 9 years due to corruption, one cadre who left the party 3 years ago, and one non-cadre of the Democratic Party.

AHY said, one figure who is not from within the party is a high official in the government of President Joko Widodo. In fact, there are a number of ministers who reportedly support this movement.

"This movement involves important government officials who are functionally within the circle of power closest to President Joko Widodo. This movement is also said to have received support from a number of ministers and important officials in President Joko Widodo's administration," said AHY.

As for the mode, AHY's removal from office will be carried out in the holding of an extraordinary congress (KLB) for the Democratic party. In this congress, there will be a coup movement using the votes of supporting cadres.

"The concept and plan chosen by the perpetrators to forcefully replace the legitimate Chairman of the Democratic Party is to hold an extraordinary congress," AHY said.

"The perpetrators are sure that this movement will be successful because they claim to have received the support of a number of other high-ranking state officials," he continued.

Not accepting the existence of this jagged movement, AHY admitted that he would defend his party's sovereignty and honor. He will maintain the position of Chairman of the Democrats through legal proceedings.

"We will do so by heeding the constitution and legal institutions as well as political initiatives that are based on the values of moral justice and ethics. Of course we will stand firm, but God willing, the Democratic Party will remain consistent in using peaceful and civilized methods," he said.
