OJK: JCI Strengthens 4.05 Percent Until July 2023

The Financial Services Authority (OJK) stated that the Indonesian stock market until July 2023 had strengthened 4.05 percent month to date (MTD) to the level of 6,931.36.

"(This is) where June 2023 rose 0.43 percent month-to-date to the level of 6,661.88 with non-residentially recording an inflow of IDR 2.72 trillion month-to-date, where in June 2023 there was an outflow of IDR 4.38 trillion month-to-date," said OJK's Chief Executive of Capital Market Supervisory, Derivative Finance and Carbon Exchange Inarno Djajadi quoting Antara.

The largest strengthening of the composite stock price index (JCI) in July 2023 was recorded by stocks in the energy sector and the basic material sector.

On a year-to-date basis (Ytd), the JCI was recorded to have strengthened by 1.18 percent with non-residentially posting a net buy of Rp18.92 trillion, of which in June 2023 the net buy was Rp16.21 trillion ytd.

On the liquidity side of the transaction, he said, the average value of the stock market transaction was moderated in July 2023 to Rp9.6 trillion mtd and Rp10.24 trillion ytd. June 2023 is Rp9.64 trillion month-to-date and in general below the average daily transaction level in 2022, which is Rp14.71 trillion," he also said.

"As for the bond market, the bond market index or ICBI (Indonesia Composite Bond Index) rose 0.56 percent mtd and 7.07 percent ytd to 369.1 level. (As for) June 2023 rose 0.96 percent mtd and 6.48 percent ytd," said Inarno.

For the corporate bond market, the flow of non-resident investors was recorded at IDR 269.8 billion mtd and ytd was still recorded as an outflow of IDR 880.2 billion.

Furthermore, the Government Securities (SBN) market is said to be continuing a positive trend and posting inflows for foreign investors.

In July 2023, non-residents recorded an inflow of IDR 8.3 trillion mtd and in June 2023 an inflow of IDR 17.5 trillion mtd, thus pushing for an average decrease in SBN yields of 1.09 bps mtd across all tenors.

"Year-to-date, SBN yields decreased by an average of 53.8 bps in all tenors with non-residents recording net buys of Rp93 trillion year-to-date," he said again.

In the mutual fund industry, the value of mutual fund net assets (NAB) as of July 31, 2023 was recorded at IDR 516.7 trillion, an increase of 1.7 percent mtd with mutual fund investors posting a net subscription of IDR 4.21 trillion mtd.

On a year-to-date basis, NAB increased 2.34 percent and recorded net subscription of IDR 1.79 trillion.
