Longpan LRT Terpanjang Di Dunia Terlalu Sempit, Menhub: Seluruh Negara Setiap Tidung Harus Pelangan
JAKARTA - The design of the Jabodebek LRT arch bridge or longspan from Gatot Subroto to Kuningan is being highlighted by the public. The reason is, the longest longspan in the world is called too narrow so the train must go slowly.
Long concrete clashes (longspan) of the Jabodebek light rail transit (LRT) train at the intersection of Jalan HR Rasuna Said and Jalan Gatot Soebroto are the longest in the world. The longspan is included in the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI).
Responding to this, the Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi said that throughout the country also did the same thing when passing through corners.
"It's not just in Indonesia, around the world, if there is a corner you have to be slow," he said at the State Palace, Jakarta, Thursday, August 3.
He said, currently the pace of the train on the Gatot Subroto longspan towards Kuningan is faster. This was conveyed after trying out the Jabodebek LRT today with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
"Yes, earlier it was faster than before. I've had it twice this week, earlier it was faster," he said.
Even so, Budi said he would continue to improve LRT performance throughout August 2023 before it was officially operational.
"We have registered approximately 10 teams or people from Siemens to intensively pay attention from August 1 to August 30," he said.
Budi also ensured that the longspan in Gatot Subroto towards Kuningan was safe to pass. In fact, Budi said the PUPR Ministry had also assessed the longspan.

"Certain, God willing (safe). So that's the Ministry of Public Works that has also assessed it," he said.
Budi was also reluctant to call this longspan design wrong. He said, this longspan is the result of a design that follows the existing conditions.
Even so, Budi admitted that the existing design was not fully maximal, but this existing design was optimized.
"I'm not talking wrongly and correctly, but it's an error that at one corner there must be a solution. So if I, I can say it's not wrong, it's a design solution," he said.
