City Government Plants 100 Trees In The Middle Of The City To Make Bandung Shady

BANDUNG -The City Government (Pemkot) of Bandung planted 100 trees on Sudirman Street to calm the flower city. Pule type trees are planted precisely at the intersection of Jati Street to Jamika Street.

Daily Implementer (PLH) of Bandung Mayor Ema Sumarna said, the step of planting this tree was also an effort to mitigate from climate change.

"This pule tree is shady, strong enough, so this tree is suitable and useful to anticipate air pressure that currently feels heated up. This tree has a contribution to environmental improvement," Ema said in Bandung, West Java, Thursday, August 3, as reported by Antara.

Pule tree was chosen, he continued, because the tree had the ease of being treated and the leaves did not easily fall. "This tree does not easily fall. This is easy to maintain. The shape of the shape is suitable, later if the lush will be much more beautiful," said Ema.

For this effort he also invited regional leaders, including the community, to participate in protecting the environment and mitigating climate change.

The reason, he said, community participation is the main key in the growth of trees in their respective environments.

"The sub-district head too, the village can carry out activities like this, can be moved in their respective regions. The surrounding community, I hope can also take care of this tree. So the next five years, even so on, this tree lives well, so that the city planning is more beautiful," he said.

"This can be anticipated in facing the threat of climate change. Coverage about green open spaces can be done together. Because with this reforestation, it is able to keep the city of Bandung fresh, the more oxygen," he said.

In the same place, Chairman of the Bandung City DPRD Commission C Yudi Cahyadi said, activities like this provide mitigation of climate change.
