BPBD Lumajang Evacuates Hiportemia Climbers On Mount Lemongan
LUMAJANG - The Rapid Response Team (TRC) of the Lumajang Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) evacuated a climber who experienced hiportemia while climbing Mount Lemongan, Lumajang Regency, East Java.
"We received information that one climber of Mount Lemongan in Klakah District, Lumajang Regency was reportedly injured while climbing on Tuesday (1/8)," said Head of Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Division of the Lumajang Regency BPBD Reza Aditya as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 2.
According to him, the Lumajang BPBD TRC, which received the report, immediately carried out rescue efforts by deploying an evacuation team that also involved the Lumajang Health Service, P2A KB and volunteers.
The injured victim was named Shohibbul Fatoni (21), a resident of Kalisalam Village, Dringu District, Probolinggo Regency. The victim started climbing with seven of his friends on Sunday (31/7).
"We received reports that the victim had hypothermia or cold from Tagana Probolinggo," he said.
Initially the victim called his father Hartono who reported that he was experiencing hypothermia and did not continue his journey to climb, so he would come down and ask for help from the rescue team in Lumajang Regency.

The victim's father reported this incident to Tagana Probolinggo and forwarded to the Lumajang Regency BPBD Pusdalops so that Shohibbul Fatoni could be evacuated from the Mount Lemongan hiking trail.
"It didn't take long, the 1st team immediately picked up the victim and followed by team 2, so they evacuated the victim in a weak condition," he said.
After being evacuated from the hiking trail, the injured climber was handled by the medical team for examination and medical treatment above Post 2 Climbing Mount Lemongan.
"Then the victims who experienced hypothermia were then taken to the Klakah Health Center using the 118 Public Safety Center (PSC) ambulance for further medical treatment at the local health center," he said.
