Former Investigators Highlight KPK's Steps To Announce Kabasarnas Suspect Without Sprindik
JAKARTA - Steps by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) announced that the Head of the National SAR Agency (Kabasarnas) Marshal Henri Alfiandi and the Coordinator of Administration (Koorsmin) Kabasarnas Lt. Col. Afri Budi Cahyanto as suspects were questioned. This is because no investigation warrant (sprindik) was issued at that time.
This was conveyed by former KPK investigator Yudi Purnomo in response to the statement by the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Alexander Marwata who said there were only three sprindiks on behalf of the suspect private party issued after the exposure or title of the arrest case at Basarnas. Meanwhile, Henri and Afri's letter will be published by the TNI.
"The legal administration should have been when people have been announced to the public as suspects, when it was determined when the case was held there should have been a sprindik," said Yudi during a conversation with VOI, Monday, July 31.
Yudi explained materially, the KPK would have pocketed evidence of the involvement of the two active soldiers in the alleged bribery in the procurement of equipment at Basarnas. "But again that this is a formal," he said.
"So it will be very unusual when people are named as suspects but there is no sprindik. This is one of the polemics," said Yudi.
As previously reported, the Basarnas OTT polemic emerged after the TNI Puspom expressed objections when the KPK appointed Henri together with the Kabasarnas Administrative Coordinator (Koorsmin) Lt. Col. Afri Budi Cahyanto as a suspect. This step is considered to have violated military rules.
Furthermore, Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Johanis Tanak apologized for the determination. He said investigators and investigators made a mistake.
