Wins Pretrial Against Maluku Prosecutor's Office, Status 3 Corruption Suspects On Jalan Inamosol Fall

The Maluku High Prosecutor's Office continues the process of investigating the alleged corruption case of the Rombatu-Manusa Village road construction project, Inamosol, West Seram Regency after part of the pretrial lawsuit filed by the suspect was granted by the Ambon District Court judge.

"The legal process is still ongoing and the case file is nearing completion, then the prosecutor is still calling a number of witnesses for questioning," said Aspidsus Maluku Attorney General Triono Rahyudi as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 27.

Initially, the Maluku Attorney General's Office named three people as suspects in the Rombatu-Manusa road construction project for the 2018 fiscal year worth Rp. 31 billion sourced from the local APBD.

The three suspects had the initials RR alias Ronald along with GS alias Guwen as the third party, and suspect JS alias Jorie as a civil servant at the PUPR Service in SBB Regency.

They were charged with violating Article 2 Juncto Article 18 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes Juncto Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code as a primary indictment.

Meanwhile, the subsidiary indictment is Article 3 Juncto Article 18 of the Corruption Act Juncto Article 64

paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.

However, the suspects pretrialed the Maluku Prosecutor's Office and their suspect status was dropped by the Ambon District Court judge.

According to Aspidsus, the prosecutor will also pick up witnesses who are considered less cooperative for questioning.

"There are a number of obstacles in handling this case, one of which is that there are witnesses who have not been present to fulfill the prosecutor's summons and they can be forcibly picked up, because this case is handled again and must be formally accounted for," he said.
