Minister Of Religion: Vandalism In Hira Cave Becomes Evaluation Of Hajj Implementation
JAKARTA - Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas said vandalism with characters identical to Indonesia on the rocks of Hira Cave, Jabal Nur, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, was part of the evaluation of the implementation of the 2023 Hajj pilgrimage.
"This is our note that in the future this is part of the hajj rituals, that pilgrims should not commit unnecessary acts of vandalism," said Yaqut Cholil Qoumas after welcoming the return of Hajj officers at Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Cengkareng, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 27.
Yaqut said vandalism was an inappropriate act to do, especially since this action took place in the Holy Land in the historic Hira Cave, where the Prophet Muhammad SAW received revelation for the first time.
Recently, the upload of a video regarding vandalism with the words "Depok" on Hira Cave has gone viral through Habib Ja'far's YouTube channel, Thursday (20/7).
Yaqut said, there are many notes from the implementation of this year's Hajj which need improvement so that in the future all forms of service shortages can be resolved.

Another note also highlighted by the Ministry of Religion is the adaptation of pilgrims to the use of toilets on planes.
"In the future, how can pilgrims use toilets on planes. Because there are still many worshipers who cannot use toilets on planes," he said.
