Police Arrest Fraudsters With The Mode Of Selling Supreme Court Auction Goods
Yogyakarta Police Team arrested a man with the initials B (56) as a suspect in a fraud and embezzlement case by selling goods from the auction of the Supreme Court Office (MA).
Head of Subunit 11 of the Yogyakarta Police Satreskrim Ipda Albertus Bagas Satria said B was arrested in the Condongcatur area, Depok District, Sleman Regency, DIY on July 17, 2023.
"B admitted that he was from the Supreme Court Education and Training Center, but he had been fired," said Bagas as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 25.
According to him, B offered a number of vehicles that were claimed to be the proceeds from the MA Office at low prices to target victims ranging from Toyota Avanza cars, Yamaha Nmax motorcycles, HondaVario motorcycles, to 2005 production HondaWin motorcycles.
By claiming to be MA employees, he said, the victims were interested in buying and then transferring some money to the suspect.
"After the potential victim was convinced, he was asked to transfer it to the perpetrator's personal account," he said.
A few days later, the victim asked about the items that had been ordered. However, until now the vehicle that the suspect had promised had not been received.
Receiving a report from the victim, Yogyakarta Police officers conducted an investigation and arrested the suspect on Jalan Pajajaran, Sleman.
From the results of the examination, the suspect admitted that he had committed fraud and embezzlement to the victim, while the victim's money had been used up for the suspect's personal needs.
According to Bagas, the suspect used the money from the fraud for personal needs, such as eating, tourism, to top up the game on the device.
"The total loss of the victim is IDR 47,700,000," he said.

The evidence that the officers secured included cell phones, BCA ATM cards, BCA Bank newspaper accounts, Timezone top up cards, and GameMaster top up cards.
"We also received several similar reports with the reported person of the same person. We are still investigating this," said Bagas.
The police are currently investigating whether or not the suspect's statement claimed to have been an ASN at the Supreme Court (MA) is true.
For his actions, the suspect is suspected of violating Article 378 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 372 of the Criminal Code with a maximum threat of four years in prison.
