Pangdam Cenderawasih: No Military Operations In The XVII Kodam Area

PAPUA - Pangdam XVII Cenderawasih Maj. Gen. Izak Pangemanan emphasized that there was no military operation in the area of the XVII Cenderawasih Military Command."There is no military operation in the area of the XVII Cenderawasih Kodam, including in efforts to free hostages who are still handling the armed criminal group (KKB) led by Egianus Kogoya," said Izak Pangemanan in Jayapura, Antara, Friday, July 21.He explained that the troops who came were under the operational control (BKO) of the Cenderawasih XVII Military Command who were members of the regional task force, both at the RI-Papua New Guinea (PNG) border and vulnerable areas.Periodically, troops from battalions throughout Indonesia were replaced because they were not organic."The presence of TNI soldiers is also to provide a sense of security to the community as well as to help improve welfare through territorial programs," said Major General Izak.Maj. Gen. Izak also hopes that there will be no more cases of attacks on security forces because if that continues, the soldiers will definitely retaliate so that later the innocent people will become victims.It is impossible for soldiers to remain silent if they are attacked or shot, even though the TNI continues to improve itself and evaluate to make it more professional.

"Let's work together to maintain security in Papua so that it is safe and development can be carried out according to the program," hoped Pangdam Izak Pangemanan.
