Record Positive Sales, Toyota Forwards Focus On Commercial Vehicle Segment
JAKARTA - Commercial vehicles are the target of big and small entrepreneurs in running their business. Toyota is one of the manufacturers that pays attention to this segment. PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) will introduce a series of commercial vehicles at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2023.
Anton Jimmi Suwandi, Marketing Director of PT TAM, stated that the presence of commercial vehicles at this exhibition aims to continue the positive trend in the segment over the past two years.
"The difference between Toyota booths compared to last year is that we are back with commercial special booths. The reason is because we see that demand in this commercial segment is quite high," said Anton as quoted by ANTARA on Monday, July 17.
Toyota is also known for its reliable commercial vehicles, such as Hilux and HiAce. Both models have contributed positively to companies in the commercial vehicle segment over the past two years.
Interestingly, Toyota Hilux has been on Toyota's list of five best-selling cars overall over the past few years. This shows an economic recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic.
"This has happened since the end of last year, perhaps due to rising commodity prices and economic recovery. As usual, the commercial segment will be the first to recover," added Anton.
With positive sales in the commercial vehicle segment, PT TAM will focus more on working on commercial markets in Indonesia by forming a special division that handles this segment.
"This preparation includes improving full-sale services, sales, and other things," continued Anton.
