After Ngurah Rai, Angkasa Pura I Builds PLTS At General Ahmad Yani Airport, Semarang
JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura I (AP1) together with its subsidiary PT Angkasa Pura Properti (APP) are building a Solar Power Plant (PLTS) at Jenderal Ahmad Yani Airport, Semarang, Central Java.
This PLTS construction work is the second job at the airport managed by AP1, after previously APP has succeeded in building PLTS at Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.
PLTS at General Ahmad Yani Airport, Semarang, which was built by APP, is in the form of 186 units of Solar PV Module with a capacity of 100 kilowatt-peak (kWp) which will be installed on the roof of the parking area of the administrative building and the rooftop of the Main Power House (MPH) Building.
The PLTS construction work is targeted for completion in December 2023, and in the future this PLTS will supply the electricity needs of a number of buildings in the area of General Ahmad Yani Airport, Semarang.
This PLTS is built and will be managed by APP which already has an Electricity Supporting Service Business License (IUJPTL).
President Director of PT Angkasa Pura I Faik Fahmi said the construction of PLTS is a consistency of AP1 in its efforts to realize a mission to make a positive contribution to environmental sustainability, and is a form of utilization of New Renewable Energy (EBT) to reduce carbon emissions.
"The construction of PLTS at General Ahmad Yani Airport, which is currently being carried out by one of its subsidiaries, namely APP, is a further step after the PLTS was previously built at Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in mid-2022," he said in a statement, Monday, July 17.
Faik said that the construction of PLTS at AP1 managed airports is a manifestation of the company's commitment to support the net zero emission (NZE) program in 2060 which was launched by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the President Director of PT Angkasa Pura Properti Ristiyanto Eko Wibowo stated that the construction of the PLTS is a concrete step to support AP1's efforts in implementing the concept of eco airport.
"After previously successfully building a solar panel system at Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, now APP is again trusted by AP1 to build a Solar PV Module at General Ahmad Yani Airport, Semarang," he said.
Furthermore, Ristiyabto said this was a consistent step from Angkasa Pura Properti to be able to support environmentally friendly AP1 airports through the application of the Eco Airport concept, utilization of EBT, and sustainable use of clean energy.
"In the future, the construction of PLTS will continue to be projected to be realized at other AP1 airports. So we hope this can be a consistent step to create an environmentally friendly airport, as well as make a real contribution in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, especially in the national airport sector," said Ristiyanto.
Ristiyanto said the construction of PLTS further strengthens the application of the eco airport concept at General Ahmad Yani Airport, Semarang, where in its operations, and this airport is supported by various utility tools that support environmentally friendly concepts such as LED lights.
