This Is How Oncy 'Ungu' Created The Phenomenal Song 'Cinta Dalam Hati'

JAKARTA - Ungu's song Cinta Dalam Hati went viral after being performed by Indonesian Idol participant, Jemimah.

Jemimah performed the song which was released in 2007 with her own interpretation. Different from the original version.

According to Oncy, the guitarist for Ungu who composed this song, Jemimah delivered Cinta Dalam Hati with a fun taste and just the right amount of 'salt'. But of course, long before Jemimah performed, Cinta Dalam Hati already had the status of a 'heart-touching' song.

Then, how did Oncy create such a phenomenon song? For Ungu's songs, Oncy already understands Pasha's vocal character. So, there is no significant difficulty. However, for the songs he composed for other artists, he had a special method.

"For a song that is to be sold, it depends on the vocal character of the singer. Do they have unique characters or can this singer deliver it with a sweet voice", Oncy explained to VOI, Thursday, January 28.

"For those singers who are melodious and fun, it's better to make the songs with the right amount of 'salt'. For acrobatic vocal styles like Bruno Mars or Michael Jackson, you have to make the song acrobatics too. We'll see the character of the singer".

Oncy also said that the character and the vocal range of each singer are not the same, so the chord selection is very important.

"If the chords are low, the singing is not good. Same thing will happen if the chords are too high", said Oncy.
