Virgin Galactic Launches Space Tour Next Month, Brings Three Passengers Who Pay IDR 6.7 Billion!
JAKARTA - Virgin Galactic will begin flying its first tourists into space no later than August 10. The mission, dubbed Galactic 02, will launch three customers.
The three unnamed customers have paid 250,000 US dollars (Rp 3.7 billion) or 450,000 US dollars (Rp 6.7 billion), an increase implemented this year.
They will ride Unity as a spacecraft or rocket that will later be tied to the aircraft carrier, VMS Eve.
VMS Eve is a type of transport plane and will bring Unity far above the earth's surface to release it.
Once the two reach at least 45,000 feet, the rocket will separate and cover a distance of more than 50 miles above Earth's surface.
Unity will then turn on the booster and die once it reaches space. The plane then floats over the Earth's atmosphere which will provide a weightless experience and epic views for a few minutes to customers, then slides back to the runway.
