Police Buy Ex-IDR 1 Trillion Aircraft
JAKARTA - The National Police purchased a Boeing 737 800NG jet from Ireland for nearly IDR 1 trillion. The purchase of aircraft aims to facilitate the mobilization of Bhayangkara Corps personnel.
"The National Police needs aircraft for transportation in the context of supervision, codal, and transportation of troops, as well as for the distribution of humanitarian aid," said Karo Penmas of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan to reporters, Friday, July 14.
"Including logistics transportation of goods, dangerous goods or dangerous goods, in the form of weapons and ammunition in large quantities quickly and precisely towards the destination area," he continued.
In addition, the purchase of the aircraft is also to deal with the political year in 2024. Where, the Police are required to always be present and quickly resolve the problems that occur.
"In order to face the 2024 political year and the vulnerability of Harkamtibmas disturbances, natural disasters and terrorism that have the potential to have a negative impact on ideology, politics, social, culture, defense and security in the territory of the Republic of Indonesia, so that immediate handling is needed by the National Police as a protector, protector, and public servant," he said.
The purchase also reasoned to make time for urgent activities. Because, said Ramadhan, it is difficult to adjust regulations to civil aviation.
"Because if you use civilian aircraft, the Police must adjust to the flight schedule and follow civil aviation regulations," said Ramadhan.
