Gas Semburan Found In Simbur Village Rises Jambi Tanjabtim
JAMBI - Residents in Simbur Village Rise, East Sabak District, East Tanjung Jabung Regency (Tanjabtim), Jambi were shocked by natural phenomena in the form of gas bursts from the ground.
The head of Simbur Naik Village, Jusmail, said the burst occurred after the Eid al-Adha celebration or the end of June.
This incident was first discovered by Mustafa and Samsir who then reported it to the village apparatus.
At first, according to witnesses Mustafa and Samsir, they were suspicious that there was smoke under the house that did not go out and smelled. When excavated, water was found that was boiling and smelled of sulfur.
"Then checked again, it turned out that there was warm water and a little smelled of sulfur around the location," said Jusmail as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 14.
The village head then made sure that his residents who lived not far from the center of the burst had felt a pungent smell like sulfur.

After receiving the report, the Head of the Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency Environment Agency, Adil P Aritonang, said that his party was following up on the findings. The team formed has also been dispatched to the location to take samples.
"The sample has been sent to a laboratory in Jambi and the results will be reported in two weeks to find out what the results are," said Adil.
Some areas in Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency are petroleum and gas-producing areas where there are also the largest oil and gas companies operating such as PetroChina.
