Back in 2021, the game was originally planned to be revealed at the end of 2022.
In addition, according to VGC, there are also reports that EA is working on a revival of the Box Fight Night video game franchise, but the work must be stopped due to the development of the UFC 5 game.
In an email across the studio, EA Canada notified staff that its focus will be on the EA Sports UFC 5 in the future.

"We are very happy with the UFC 5 and we want to remove the separate focus that some members of our leadership team have in the past so we can only focus on sending migration and UFC 5 with high quality," the email reads.
The last major title in the franchise is EA Sports UFC 4, which has been available since August 2020 for Xbox One and PS4. The game features over 220 fighters, new removal animations, and new Career Mode.
It is not clear which platforms UFC 5 will be released, but it could be that the EA Sports UFC 5 will be launched on the Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
