PHR's New Well Produces Production Higher Than Expected
PEKANBARU - PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) submitted the results of a new well test in the Rokan working area (WK), Riau Province, with higher Sumatran Light Crude (SLC) oil production than originally estimated.
EVP Upstream Business PHR WK Rokan Edwil Suzandi said the new well, namely Sikladi 34 or called SD034 (NW1) was in Sikladi Field, Riau. From the well test conducted on Sunday, July 9, it was found that the results of this well production showed good results.
"The initial production of this new well reaches 1,231 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) with a drilling depth of 1,371 meters. The actual production of this well is higher than the initial estimate, which is 102 BOPD," said Edwil as quoted by Antara, Monday, July 10.
Edwil added that this positive result further spurred PHR to continue to look for new opportunities and optimize existing production.
"PHR continues to strive to get new wells with high production to support the achievement of national production targets," he said.
In addition to the success of the Sikladi well, good news also came from the Pinang field, where the results of the Pinang 52 workingover (improvement) well were found to be produced on Sunday (9/7/2023) as many as 614 BOPD.
Increased 572 BOPD from the previous production of 42 BOPD.
"This well is a new well drilled in 2021, optimized by opening a new zone that has not previously been produced. There are not many workovers with oil gains above 500 BOPD. Hopefully this result will continue to survive," said Edwil.
Despite intensively carrying out exploration and production, Edwil emphasized that all these activities should not be separated from safety aspects.
"Of course we always prioritize the safety aspect for the superior production of the Rokan WK," he said.
